Kite flying

While walking Dana in Woodlands, I came across this family. The father was teaching his two toddlers how to fly a kite. It made me think of my own childhood days as well.

My Birthday Dinner

On the occasion of my birthday, my family and I went for a seafood dinner. The restaurant, Taste of Thailand, used to be located at the former Sembawang Shopping Centre. Now it is at Yishun Industrial Park, facing the MRT track.

Initial impressions were favourable. The young staff were prompt and extremely polite, serving us with smiles. The customer service is much better than Swensons or Hans. Speed of food delivery gets two thumbs up as well. After our order, the first dish was served within 5 mins! And this from a coffeeshop restaurant! Taste wise, the quality of the food was better than average but it was extremely value for money.

All this for $97. Quite value for money.

Its my mum's DAY as well. Its OUR day :)

Lost in the dark

What's this thing on four legs with a bunch of glowing lights?

Coco has soulful eyes

Coco dropped by my place for a short visit after her vaccination. We (my big-bro, my sis-in-law and I) decided to let her and Dana have a little quality time all by themselves and free-roaming around the house. We are not sure what happened in that short 30 mins of quality time, but I am sure they had become better friends.

Dana's Shower Time

After seeing Snowy's agony during shower, Dana upgraded her original "Bum and Feet" shower to a "Whole-Body" shower. Let's take a look at the tools of the trade first.

SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER: Only the second time in use.

Dana seems quite ambivalent about the entire shower experience. This was quite a departure when we first got her, she was so terrified of getting herself wet.

Hey! Watch where the water is going!

Watch me shake all these water off.

IT'S THE FUR: Ah Ma, don't say I am fat anymore, see how slim I am.

After the shampoo and the conditioning, Dana needs to be hand-dryer dried to get her fluffy look back.

I love the breeze...

QUESTIONING EYES: Daddy, are you done yet?

Dana clean and happy, basking in the afternoon sun.

Snowy's Shower Time

Ah Ma commented to BW & LL that me getting smelly liao and that prompted BW to give me a personalise shower at home. Showering at home is nicer as no need to wait for my turn and BW give me nice massage duirng showering. Cousin Dana has been bathed twice too at my shower room. When you (CoCo) grow older, I invite you to try it out too. Cousin Brownie, want to enjoy this free service too???

Starting with a deep foam scrub (twice ok...)

Rinsing off the conditioner (the 3rd step)

Waiting to be dryed

No more photos... enough liao *stare*

no more pics!!!

Dad's Secondary School Friend

In one of my posts on my gbandfriends page, I mentioned that my father had a secondary friend who is operating a hawker stall in Shunfu hawker centre. Lets call him Uncle JP (acronym). Uncle JP's stall sells chicken rice, curry fish head, laksa and pig spare parts soup. I would say that the standard of Uncle's offerings is above average. Uncle himself admitted as such saying that the standard of his food was better in the past; age is catching up.

Personally, I liked the spare parts soup the best. The laksa was not too bad. And the curry for the fish head was quite fragrant. So you may like to patronise the stall if you drop by but there are many other stalls to try as well.

For us, we also ordered from other stalls. My brother Ben tried a char kway teow and said it was good. The roast duck from another stall was good but the stall will be shifting to another location soon.

Presenting CoCo

Today, little Coco (a Miniature Maltese) meets the rest of the cousins (Dana & Snowy).

Where are you, Dana?

I was busy doing housework, hanging out freshly washed clothes to dry. Suddenly I realised Dana was not in her usual spot in the living room. I called out to her but there was no response. No bark, no whine, no sign at all.

Guess who I saw on my bed, looking smug and a little drowsy, together with my freshly aired clothes which I have just folded.

Today (17th Oct) is our dog dog, Snowy's 2nd Birthday. Instead of bringing her to expensive dog cafe, we decided to prepare a special dinner for her :)

Ingredients: 1 can of Solid Gold doggy food, 1 fresh fried egg (non-oil fry method) and freshly chopped boiled carrots

Birthday gal eager for her food

The prepared masterpiece.
