Suffice to say, it was a good gathering. Twenty persons from four families turned up and the food was ample and delicious. Thank you to all who took time to participate because whilst someone needs to organise, participation is equally if not more critical to the eventual success. For those who were unable to join us because of work and other commitmments, you were missed. Please be assured that there will be more of such gatherings to come (Weihao's chalet in Nov 07 and a probable X'mas gathering in Dec 07) and we look forward to your company.
Ironically, mooncakes featured the least amongst the dishes bacause all of us were quite well-fed by the time the mooncakes were taken out and cut. Nonetheless, for completeness, everyone had a small slice to round-up the occasion. The climax was the group family photo. The photos taken are appended below.
I was told that the cherry tomatoes and cucumber salad I made was quite tasty and a few aunties had requested for the recipe. So here is the recipe.
Ingredients
a. Cherry tomatoes (Cherrylino from NTUC is good. Choose the red ones)
b. Mini cucumbers (Jap ones are best)
c. Basil leaves (Fresh is best but dried ones are ok as well)
Dressing
d. Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I use a lot of this as I like the taste of olive oil)
d. Vinegar (Use better ones like red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar)
e. Honey
f. Pepper
g. Salt
There are no strict directions for how much of each ingredient to use. It is up to the individual to decide whether he prefers his salad to be more sour or sweet, just like how we decide we live our lives, isn't it?
