This was my first published article which earned me a grand total of $7. As a primary school student then, $7 was a big amount considering we survived on a daily pocket money of fifty cents a day. My classmates were all very illustrious students and when one friend of mine got his composition published, it sparked off a frenzy of the whole class sending compositions to the newspaper. Sadly, for me at least, this was my one and only article.
